Is Leadership Changing?

Future of Leadership: Do you want to be lead? Recently a wise friend floated the idea that young people do not want to be lead like in the past and pointed to recent global events such as the Arab Spring etc to highlight social change that is moving around  the world….quickly….with huge impacts! This analysis is something worth considering.  We have seen significant change in social behaviour over the last few years; in parallel we have also seen social media expand. Why mention this? Information is being moved faster than we have seen before, providing people with a voice who previously were unable to be heard. As a result the social and corporate structures (and behaviours) that have been utilised by our leaders in the last few decades do not appear to be what is needed in the future.  While preparing for a client meeting I was reflecting on leadership and what it could be evolving to.
